CHRISTMAS EVE
CHRISTMAS EVE
advent (n.) - the arrival of a noteable person, thing, or event.
Hundreds of years before Jesus’s arrival, the authors of the Old Testament were all pointing to his advent in our world as a humble baby. This year at Citylight we are celebrating King Jesus’s arrival by exploring a few of these passages and identifying key themes that were important for both the people of God in that day, and are still relevant for us today. While God’s people waited for generations for the coming of the Messiah, on this side of history we celebrate his incarnation, the Genesis 3 promise fulfilled, and yet also longing wait for his return.
This season, Advent at Citylight culminates with a Christmas-Eve Candlelight Celebration. Come join us this Tuesday at 4pm or 6pm.
